Fueled By The Race Weekend Experiences Of Our Fans

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

The arrival of Memorial Day weekend may as well be the start of summer, with it giving away to the summer month of June. It's all a reminder for us here at Atlanta Motor Speedway that when the holiday weekend on the back end of the summer arrives, it'll be time for NASCAR Night Racing's return to Atlanta Motor Speedway! The closer a race weekend inches towards us on the calendar, the more the energy builds around Atlanta Motor Speedway as we meticulously put plans into place to provide our fans and guests with as great of an experience as possible when they are with us in September.

As if the countdown clock to race weekend growing smaller isn't enough to get us excited, hearing from you, the fans also gets us fired up for race weekend as well.

As the manager of our Facebook and Twitter page, I hear from and communicate with fans on a first-hand basis. It's gratifying to hear them talk about year-round how excited they are to be able to join us each year. In fact, one of our Facebook fans posted recently that he and his group of racing fans plan to join us Labor Day Weekend - even though his wife's baby in due to be born the week of our race. Now if that's not diehard dedication, then I don't know what is!

We're also excited by our fans showing us how to have a fun time at Atlanta Motor Speedway through the eyes of their camera lenses. We recently asked fans to send us photos of themselves - the only requirement was that it had to be of them at Atlanta Motor Speedway. We received an overwhelming number of pictures, and have added them to the fan photo gallery on our Web site.

We've seen a vast array of photos. They're pictures of fans enjoying being at Atlanta Motor Speedway from locations all over our facility - from the grandstands to the campgrounds and the fan zone midway area. We even received a few pictures of fans getting to meet their favorite driver!

Plus, we've seen pictures of fans of all ages, some being long-time fans of AMS while others are coming to love NASCAR as a young fan.

It's all part of the fan experience, and we cannot wait to have all of our fans with us on Labor Day Weekend for the Biggest Labor Day Party in the USA!
