Week two of Atlanta Motor Speedway's Winter Flurry saw intense racing on the quarter-mile "Thunder Ring" and drivers beginning to position themselves in the seven-week season's points standings. 

Atlanta Motor Speedway will host the American Red Cross Holiday Blood Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 20 in the Tara Ball Room, located near the Atlanta Motor Speedway corporate offices. The blood drive is from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and all presenting donors will receive a free  American Red Cross Soup Bowl and will also be entered into a raffle for a pair of round trip airline tickets.

Darian Grubb spoke for mere minutes at Thursday's NASCAR NMPA Myers Brothers Awards Luncheon, but the words that tumbled from the champion crew chief's mouth were a good two months in the making. 

Visit the area's newest and most affordable drive-through Christmas light park when Atlanta Motor Speedway opens the inaugural Gift of Lights this Friday, Nov. 18. The Gift of Lights will be a nightly drive-through event, with over one million LED lights.

Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Friday Night Drags and MCR Safety Show-N-Shine announces the Fall Stampede on Sept. 23 and 30 with two additional nights of drag racing.

The AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race has been postponed because of weather from Tropical Storm Lee. The race will be rescheduled for Tuesday, September 6 with a start time of 11:00 a.m. Existing tickets and credentials will be honored when the gates open at 8:30 a.m.

Kasey Kahne won the pole for Sunday's AdvoCare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway with a lap of 29.775 seconds (186.196 mph). It was his 22nd career pole and third at the speedway. "It was definitely not a perfect lap, but it was a little better than what everyone else did," Kahne said.

Ron Hornaday didn't have the best truck Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, but he had the best fuel strategy. And in the end, that's all that mattered. Hornaday led the final 17 laps – the only laps he led all night – to win the Good Sam Club 200 NASCAR Camping World 200.

Atlanta Motor Speedway's newest short-track racing class, Buzz Cars, made it's exhibition debut following an INEX-sanctioned short-track race on the track's quarter-mile "Thunder Ring" on Sunday. The debut featured a group of Buzz Cars, minimally-modified, four-cylinder stock cars.

NASCAR has announced competition changes for the 2011 racing season. Among the changes are restructuring the current points system and  modifying the method of qualifying the final two drivers for the Chase for the Championship.
