Atlanta Motor Speedway's Ticket Office is currently being remodeled and outfitted with 10 additional phone-service stations. The weekend will also feature Georgia Power Qualifying Night on March 5 and the Camping World Truck Series race on March 6.

    The American Red Cross will play host to a blood drive in Atlanta Motor Speedway's Tara Ballroom on Monday, Dec. 21. The American Red Cross blood drive will take place from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Tara Ballroom, located between the Speedway's Petty Grandstand and corporate office building near the main entrance. Each donor can pre-register at www.givelife.org.

    Saturday's running of Atlanta Motor Speedway's Winter Flurry series has been cancelled due to anticipated inclement weather.
    Atlanta Motor Speedway's Winter Flurry will return on Jan. 30 for the fourth-scheduled contest of the six-date season.

    Atlanta Motor Speedway officials have announced the schedule for the 2010 Friday Night Drags summer drag racing series. 
    Atlanta Motor Speedway will play host to 17 Friday Night Drags events in 2010, the Speedway's fourth full-season of drag racing competition. The 2010 season will feature 14 points races running from June 4 through September 10 with an off-date scheduled for September 3.

    The Atlanta Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities has raised more than $260,000 to be granted to local children's organizations at the annual Grant Distribution and Holiday Celebration at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Grants to 35 local charitable organizations serving the medical, emotional and social needs of children will be awarded during the event held at Atlanta Motor Speedway's Infield Media Center.

    Short-track racing returned to Atlanta Motor Speedway's "Thunder Ring" on Friday for the first on-track Winter Flurry action of the 2009-10 winter season of Legends, Bandolero and Thunder Roadster racing.Mason Massey sat on the pole to start the Young Lions feature and jetted ahead before an early caution forced the field together. Following the restart, Massey ran away with the win.

    Expanding racing activities for the Kobalt Tools 500 race weekend, Atlanta Motor Speedway has added a NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race to follow Georgia Power Qualifying Night for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Friday, March 5. The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour event will feature a 150-lap format on Atlanta Motor Speedway's quarter-mile "Thunder Ring."

    Atlanta Motor Speedway will play host to a series of Accident Avoidance Workshops in November and December, providing student drivers the opportunity to simulate emergency situations often overlooked in driver's education courses.

    The Accident Avoidance Workshop is a two-part program designed to prepare student drivers to respond to emergency situations. Each participant will attend a 150-minute classroom session, followed by a four and a half hour session of emergency driving simulation the following weekend.

    Atlanta Motor Speedway's "Thunder Ring" will roar back to life this Friday, Oct. 23 as Legends cars, Bandoleros and Thunder Roadsters take to the track for the first date of the 2009-10 Winter Flurry Legends Racing Series. Friday marks the first-of-six Winter Flurry dates and the first Legends race on Atlanta Motor Speedway's quarter-mile oval since the conclusion of the 2009 Thursday Thunder season.

    The champions of the 2009 Friday Night Drags season will be honored by Atlanta Motor Speedway in an awards ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 18 in the Speedway's infield Media Center.
    Champions Day at The Speedway will feature an awards ceremony for the top-three points finishers in each Friday Night Drags class. In addition to receiving a trophy for their season-ending points position, each honoree will be offered a complimentary Richard Petty Driving Experience Ride-Along around Atlanta Motor Speedway at more than 165 mph. he event is open to Friday Night Drags fans and lunch can be purchased for $10 and includes hamburgers, hot dogs, potato chips and a dessert bar.

    NASCAR racing returned to the south for Labor Day weekend in a big way Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, as a near-capacity crowd watched Kasey Kahne sprint to the checkers in the Pep Boys Auto 500 Sprint Cup race.
    "To see the crowd here tonight and be at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Labor Day and have so many people who were yelling and excited ... it's great to see that many people here and that excited for a Sprint Cup race," Kahne said.

    Bringing all things motorsports to Atlanta Motor Speedway for one weekend, the Motorsports Nationals show will descend upon the Speedway this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19 and 20.
    The Motorsports Nationals show will be an all-inclusive expose in motorsports at one of racing's premier palaces in the Southeast, Atlanta Motor Speedway. The two-day event will feature drifting, audio competitions, burnout contests, live music from seven bands, freestyle motocross, stunt shows, a track cruise, seminars, RC drag racing at more than 100 mph, a vendor midway and much more.

    With reserve blood supplies often hitting their lowest levels in the summer months, the fourth annual NASCAR Foundation Blood and Marrow Drive returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sept. 30 to assist the American Red Cross in refueling blood banks. The fourth annual NASCAR Foundation Blood and Marrow Drive will utilize more than 30 NASCAR facilities nationwide to help meet demand of more than 38,000 blood donations needed daily and approximately 6,000 people who are seeking a marrow match each day. Atlanta Motor Speedway's drive will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30. in the Atlanta Motor Speedway infield Media Center.

    Kevin Harvick dominated the field Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, overcoming a slow final pit stop to win the Degree V12 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Kyle Busch finished second and Dale Earnhardt Jr. was third after stretching his fuel window to the end in an effort to steal the win away from Harvick. The effort fell flat with two to go when Harvick and Busch sailed past Earnhardt's car, limping around with a nearly empty tank and old tires.

    Juan Pablo Montoya has already proved he can run up front, lead laps and even dominate a race. But Montoya is yet to claim his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series oval track win. When Montoya and the Sprint Cup stars descend upon Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Pep Boys Auto 500 on Sunday, the Chase contender could very well end up in Victory Lane at an oval track for the first time on the Sprint Cup Circuit.

    Atlanta weather forecasts remain outstanding for this weekend's Pep Boys Auto 500 and Degree V12 300 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
    Saturday's forecast for the Degree V12 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race calls for mostly sunny conditions with a high temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the National Weather Service. There is a minimal risk for precipitation.

    Appearing comfortable in his Chase position, Kurt Busch will attempt to attack Atlanta Motor Speedway in an effort to secure needed bonus points entering the Chase for the Championship.

    Atlanta Motor Speedway set a single-day ticket sales record on Monday for the Sunday night Pep Boys Auto 500.
    In addition to establishing a new single-day mark for ticket sales, Atlanta Motor Speedway's ticket sales for the Pep Boys Auto 500 are up significantly over 2008 sales as of the close of business on Monday.
    "Yesterday was the best day for ticket sales in my 17 years at Atlanta Motor Speedway and it really speaks to the anticipation surrounding our first night race," said Ed Clark, Atlanta Motor Speedway president and general manager. "We're building a new NASCAR tradition with the Pep Boys Auto 500 and night racing on Labor Day weekend and fans are responding with tremendous interest."

    That could bode well for Logano when the green flag drops at the Pep Boys Auto 500 on Sept. 6 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

At five of those tracks, he posted a better finish than he did in his debut at that racetrack.     Atlanta Motor Speedway and its corporate partner Degree V12 are committed to honoring America's armed forces and have selected an Army National Guard widow to serve as Grand Marshal for the Degree V12 300 Nationwide Series race at AMS.

    Crystal Beale of McDonough has been selected as Grand Marshal for the Degree V12 300. Beale's husband, SFC John C. Beale, died June 4 in Kapisa, Afghanistan at age 39 from wounds suffered from an IED and small arms fire.

    Straight-line speed returned to Atlanta Motor Speedway following a scheduled off week and week 10 of Friday Night Drags featured a controversial call, leading to a remarkable moment of comradery among competitors.
    The final-round Truck Advanced class matchup paired Bill Patrick (Stockbridge) against Terry Queen (Jonesboro), sitting second and fifth in the class points standings respectively. Trailing points leader Chuck Poole by five marks, Patrick appeared to rock out of the starting box and was quickly disqualified for jumping the start, giving Queen the win.
     However, because Queen did not feel Patrick jumped the start significantly, if at all, the Jonesboro native conceded the win to Patrick.

    Based on the current rate of camping reservations, Atlanta Motor Speedway expects a record number of campers for its upcoming Pep Boys Auto 500 race weekend on Labor Day weekend.
    Fans still have the opportunity to select from a limited number of reserved campsites for the Sept. 5 and 6 race weekend, including the Trackside Terrace Luxury RV camping area overlooking the Speedway along the backstretch.
    Included in camping opportunities still available are the Legends Tent Campground and the Elliott Campground, which included Elliott Reserved Handicapped Camping. These camp areas were added earlier this summer due to overwhelming demand for event camping.

    Straight-line speed will return to Atlanta Motor Speedway for "Double Points Night" during week 10 of the 2009 Friday Night Drags season. In addition to 14 classes of drag racing, week 10 will feature a special Show-N-Shine award for the best truck entered in the Show-N-Shine car show.

    Championship Night at Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder concluded the 2009 season and featured the awarding of championships in eight classes, while the "Thunder Ring" also witnessed the return of Beau Slocumb after a battle with cancer.
    Slocumb, a fan favorite with five-career Thursday Thunder wins, returned to Atlanta Motor Speedway after recently completing treating for Synovial Sarcoma cancer at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.     A pair of 2008 champions returned to Victory Lane for the first time in 2009 during Atlanta Motor Speedway's ninth week of Friday Night Drags.
    John Bonner of Molina and Mike Chambers of Griffin each claimed top honors in their respective class (Pro and Pro Four) to mark their first wins of the 2009 season. Bonner won the 2008 Street Outlaw championship in a 1986 Toyota truck with four wins, but returned to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the first time in 2009 in a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. In only the Bel Air's first night of passes down Atlanta Motor Speedway's pit lane drag strip, the car easily made its way to Victory Lane.

    Atlanta Motor Speedway is searching for local singers to perform the national anthem before the on-track action at Thursday Thunder and Friday Night Drags throughout the remaining summer months. In addition to the opportunity to perform at Atlanta Motor Speedway's summer-racing series, the performances will also be used as anthem auditions for the Pep Boys Auto 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race weekend on Labor Day weekend.

    Billy Stevenson has become somewhat of a two-sport star at Atlanta Motor Speedway's summer racing series. Pulling double duty on Thursday and Friday nights, Stevenson's Legends car has seemingly bridged the gap between Thursday Thunder short track racing and the straight-line speed of Friday Night Drags.
    Throughout the summer, Stevenson has competed in both Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder and Friday Night Drags. One night after turning short-track laps on Atlanta Motor Speedway's "Thunder Ring," Stevenson places his Legends car on Atlanta Motor Speedway's pit lane drag strip.

    The 2009 Bandolero Nationals at Atlanta Motor Speedway will feature upwards of 100 short-track racers competing on the "Thunder Ring." Friday, July 24 will serve as a practice date for the Bandolero Nationals feature racing on Saturday, July 25.

    Grandstands will be closed for the 2009 Bandolero Nationals, but race fans can purchase infield passes to the National event for $25.

    As Atlanta Motor Speedway is celebrating its 100th race at the Kobalt Tools 500, the track is turning to its fans for help in an effort to fill in three gaps in the track's program archives.

    Atlanta Motor Speedway will offer two Kobalt Tools 500 frontstretch tickets to any fan willing to donate one of the three missing programs to the track.
