Atlanta Motor Speedway has partnered with more than 25 local hotels to continue a program designed to assist fans in obtaining affordable hotel accommodations for the Speedway's Labor Day NASCAR night racing weekend. The Speedway has added 27 hotel partners for the Sept. 4 and 5 Labor Day weekend and each partner guarantees a room rate of $120 or less without requiring a mutli-night stay.

Friday Night Drags once again produced a strong mixture of winners on Friday in the final non-points race prior to its 2010 points opener. Just one competitor, Kevin Connolly of Hampton won for the second week in a row with just three winners from the season's first non-points race winning their respective classes. Tony Morse won in the pro division, Stephen Fulton in trucks and Curtis Teal in domestic advanced.

Great Clips, the world's largest hair salon brand, will serve as title sponsor for the Sept. 4th NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the Great Clips 300. The Great Clips 300 will feature a 195-lap format on Atlanta Motor Speedway's 1.54-mile quad-oval track and is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start time on Saturday of Atlanta's Labor Day NASCAR night racing weekend. Great Clips is the primary sponsor of the No. 38 Toyota for Braun Racing.

The 2010 season of Friday Night Drags powered its way toward the summer Friday as there was a new feel to Victory Lane for many competitors. Just one winner from the first week of competition claimed a division victory Friday in the second of three non-points races prior to the points opener on June 4. With a crowd of more than 4,500 fans on hand, Samuel Mendiola of Atlanta was the lone repeat winner from the first week of Friday Night Drags, winning in Pro Four.

Atlanta Motor Speedway and Lanier Speedway have partnered to host The Georgia Crown with a $5,000 purse for Legends competitors on Saturday, Aug. 14 at Lanier Speedway in Braselton. The Georgia Crown will award a $5,000 purse to the top-15 finishing Legends competitors in The Georgia Crown points series, including $2,000 to the winner of the race.

After the most successful opening night in the four-year history of Friday Night Drags, Atlanta Motor Speedway's summer drag racing series will return on May 14.The opening night of Friday Night Drags on April 30 featured more than 260 drag racers and 115 show cars exhibiting in front of a crowd exceeding 4,000 fans. Atlanta Motor Speedway will play host to additional Friday Night Drags non-points events – on Friday, May 14 and Friday, May 21.

The 2010 season of Friday Night Drags was christened Friday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway as an estimated crowd of more than 4,000 spectators enjoyed thrilling drag racing under the lights. And although it was not a points race, many drivers familiar with winning at Friday Night Drags found themselves taking home first place trophies at night's end and in turn, generating momentum leading up to the Friday Night Drags points opener on June 4.

Atlanta Motor Speedway's 2010 season of Friday Night Drags will hit high speed this Friday, April 30 as the season starts with the first of three non-points events. Friday's drag races and Show-N-Shine car show will mark the season-opening date of the 17-week Friday Night Drags season of straight-line speed and spectacular show cars. As a non-points event, this Friday's race will likely be used by many competitors to better prep and class their vehicles for the season's first points event on June 4.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway pace car will be making a number of in-market promotional appearances in coming weeks to promote the Speedway’s Labor Day weekend of NASCAR night racing and summer racing series. The AMS pace car will appear at four local events in the coming month and select appearances will also include giveaways and chances to win tickets to upcoming Speedway events. Fans are encouraged to attend the events for chances to win, meet the Speedway’s staff, and discuss NASCAR and the upcoming Thursday Thunder and Friday Night Drags seasons at AMS.

Legends racers had one final opportunity to prep at Atlanta Motor Speedway's for the Speedway's summer short-track racing series, Thursday Thunder, on Friday during the spring's final off-season Legends event. Justin Swilling held the lead position to start the combined classes of Pros and Masters and quickly jumped ahead of the pack with Jimmy Henderson trailing. Using lap traffic to his advantage, Swilling cruised on to victory.

In an effort to provide fans with more convenient camping options and meet demand surrounding the track's Labor Day NASCAR weekend, Atlanta Motor Speedway has created a new RV campground providing fans some of the closest access to the track's frontstretch grandstands. The Legends Premium campground is nestled along Atlanta Motor Speedway's Perimeter Road near the Speedway's main entrance.

Short-track racing returned to Atlanta Motor Speedway's "Thunder Ring" on Friday for an off-season Legends race in preparation for this summer's upcoming Thursday Thunder series. Jimmy Henderson sat on the pole to start the Pro class feature, but was immediately chased by Evan and Justin Swilling. Evan took the checkered flag with Henderson trailing by a few car lengths. Alex Coffey held the advantage to begin the Bandits feature and cruised to the win.

Just weeks after housing high-speed trucks during the Kobalt Tools 500 race weekend, Atlanta Motor Speedway's NASCAR Nationwide Series garage will be transformed into a 22,000 square foot showroom for the Sweet Repeats consignment sale from Thursday, March 25 through Saturday, March 27. The Sweet Repeats sale at Atlanta Motor Speedway will feature nearly 50,000 items that include books, furniture, children's' items and more with many items priced at bargain rates. There is no admission cost to attend the event. The NASCAR Nationwide garage is located in the Atlanta Motor Speedway Infield and patrons are advised to enter the Infield at the Main Tunnel entrance off Speedway Boulevard.

Kevin Harvick made it look "E-Z". Harvick was the class of the field Saturday, piloting his No. 2 E-Z-GO Chevrolet to the win in the E-Z-GO 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. With the Camping World Truck Series win, Harvick has now completed the trifecta at Atlanta, having won in all three series: trucks, Nationwide and Sprint Cup. Kyle Busch, the winner four of the last five truck races in Atlanta, finished second for his newly formed Kyle Busch Motorsports team.

The gold-medal winning U.S. four-man bobsled team and bronze-medal winning women's two-man team will attend the Kobalt Tools 500 race weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The men's team, the first American bobsled group to win gold since the 1948 Winter Olympics, will attend the Kobalt Tools 500  Sunday, March 7 and will cheer on Geoffrey Bodine in the E-Z-GO 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Saturday, March 6.

In a nod to the U.S. Olympic bobsled medalists and his pastime, NASCAR veteran Geoffrey Bodine will compete in the E-Z-GO 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in a paint scheme recognizing the U.S. medalists. Bodine will compete in the No. 95 Dodge truck owned by Team Gill Racing and the truck will display the names of each U.S. Olympic bobsled medalists while competing in Atlanta.

It goes without saying that Kyle Busch's domination in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has grabbed plenty of headlines. In 70-career truck races, he has won a staggering 16 times. And of the tracks he has raced at, perhaps nowhere has he been as successful as he has been at Atlanta Motor Speedway. In five races at AMS, Busch has won four times and has finished in the top ten in all five races.

Atlanta Motor Speedway's Winter Flurry short-track racing series returned Saturday with double features and three competitors claimed victories in multiple races. Justin Thomas of Woodstock and Kason Plott of Marietta each won both features in the Young Lions and Bandits classes respectively, while Atlanta Motor Speedway president Ed Clark claimed three victories while racing in multiple classes. 

NASCAR young gun David Ragan will participate in the third annual Speedway Children's Charities Clay Shoot preceding Atlanta Motor Speedway's Kobalt Tools 500 race weekend on Thursday, March 4. The SCC Clay Shoot gives racing fans the opportunity to competitively shoot clays with NASCAR notables at the Cherokee Rose Sporting Resort in Griffin, a state-of-the-art clay range just south of Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Saturday's running of Atlanta Motor Speedway's Winter Flurry series has been cancelled due to anticipated inclement weather.

The cancelled-fourth date of the 2009-10 Winter Flurry season will be rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 5, making the weekend a two-day show of Legends short-track racing. In addition to Friday, Saturday's action will include two feature races in each class on the Speedway's quarter-mile "Thunder Ring."

Race fans have until Feb. 5 to take advantage of a $5 built-in discount for select tickets to Georgia Power Qualifying Night and the Atlanta 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March. Frontstretch General Admission tickets for Friday and Saturday and Upper Champions seats for the Atlanta 200 will increase in price $5 on February 5. NASCAR fans are encouraged to purchase before this date. 

The second day of Goodyear tire testing at Atlanta Motor Speedway concluded with NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers feeling confident the two-day test will result in an improved tire for the upcoming Kobalt Tools 500 on March 7. Carl Edwards, Sam Hornish, Jr., Mark Martin and Martin Truex, Jr. - assisted the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. with tire testing and praised Goodyear's efforts to provide a quality tire compound for the 2010 Kobalt Tools 500.
