For the first time in Atlanta Motor Speedway history, Sprint Car racing will take to the track as part of the speedway’s fifth-annual Labor Day weekend date on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, 2013.The 54th-annual AdvoCare 500 on Sunday night, Sept. 1 will highlight the yearly stop at the 1.54-mile speedway for NASCAR’s top two series during the Labor Day weekend.

Fresh off his helmet-throwing performance last weekend, Tony Stewart won the pole for Sunday’s AdvoCare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway with a lap of 29.787 seconds (186.121 mph).“That pole is 100 percent due to Ryan Newman,” Stewart said of his teammate, who had qualified earlier in the evening and was able to tell Newman exactly how to set his car up.

Look out Atlanta race fans! Here comes Danica Mania! Danica Patrick is moving to NASCAR full-time for the 2012 season, and her schedule will include competing in two races on Labor Day Weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway - capped by the AdvoCare 500!
