A few weeks ago, mere hours prior to a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event, Jimmie Johnson appeared at a “Tweet-up,” an in-person gathering of fans who communicate with one another on Twitter. Johnson making himself that accessible to fans casts a bright light on one of the many enhancements to the fan experience that only comes by being at the track.

Sure, you can crank up the surround sound on your TV at home or keep up with the action on your computer, but nothing replaces the atmosphere and electricity of simply being at the track. Driver appearances are but one of many parts of Labor Day Weekend that fans can only experience by being at the track.

These drivers are the best of the best drivers in the entire world and the heroes of so many fans. For the ordinary fan, it’s not likely that you’ll meet Peyton Manning before an Indianapolis Colts game or LeBron James before an NBA game. But it’s not uncommon to see NASCAR drivers in the midst of the Fan Zone area just hours before their strap in for 500 miles of white-knuckled racing.

During race weekend, as an exclusive offer to our Club One customers, we’ll have some of NASCAR’s top drivers visiting for intimate Q&As. And they’ll be there within hours of hitting the track for either practice or a race, which means racing will be weighing heavily on their minds when they’ll be visiting with fans!

Justin Allgaier and Reed Sorenson will be in Club One on Friday, David Ragan on Saturday with Kyle Busch in addition to Mark Martin, driver of the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet on Sunday.

On Friday Sept. 2, we’re excited to be hosting a first-time event at Atlanta Motor Speedway – an autograph session with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers! A total of 600 fans who have purchased AdvoCare 500 tickets by July 31 will be selected for admission into the event where fans will receive autographs from two drivers, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. is among the drivers fans admitted have a chance to receive an autograph from!

Also during race weekend, a handful of drivers make appearances at their souvenir haulers at the track and at a few other locations in the area. As each driver’s representatives pass along when and where their driver will be making an appearance, we’ll pass that information along on www.atlantamotorspeedway.com or on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Drivers also appear for Q&As throughout the weekend at the SPEED Stage and Sprint Display, both of which are located in the Fan Zone area located between Gates 13 and 15 of the Speedway, outside the Earnhardt and Champions Grandstands.

Labor Day Weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway is not something you can get the full impact of by sitting at home and watching on TV. Its something you have to be here for, and we look forward to having you with us!
