With the SYLVANIA Silverstar® zXe Cup having reached its halfway point, Toomas Heikkinen finds himself in a good position as SYLVANIA Silverstar® zXe Global Rallycross Atlanta approaches.

The 22-year old driver from Finland leads the standings of the four-race mini-series with 41 points which pays a $20,000 bonus to the driver with the most points at its conclusion. Ken Block's 32 points are good for second place and Patrick Sandell has accumulated 31 points to rank him third.

The SYLVANIA Silverstar® zXe Cup is comprised of races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway and upcoming events at Atlanta and Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Atlanta event is Aug. 10.

Heikkinen is in the midst of a history-making run. He has won the past three GRC races in a row, becoming the first driver in series history to do so. In five races this season, Heikkinen has finished no worse than third and currently leads the overall series points standings.

"It's been a great season for us," Heikkinen said. "We'll go race by race and see where we end up."

Heikkinen picked up his first win earlier this year in the second X-Games race in Munich, Germany. That victory appeared to give him and his Olsbergsmse team momentum with wins at New Hampshire and Bristol. At Bristol, Heikkinen survived a logjam entering the first turn of the final race and pulled away for the win ahead of Block, who had appeared to have the fastest car throughout the day.

"I just tried to get a good start on the grid, and after that I chose the tight line on the inside corner, and that made the difference," Heikkinen said. "Then I didn't have mirrors on my car."
