In recent years, the fresh faces within NASCAR’s Nationwide Series have oftentimes played second-fiddle when going for victory, seeing NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers drop down and win a majority of the events.

This year, however, the young up-and-coming drivers in the series are aggressively claiming their opportunity to shine, winning a majority of the events and beating many of the same experienced veterans of NASCAR in the process.

A quick look at the Nationwide Series points standings reveals a mixture of young talents such as Austin Dillon and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who are on a fast track to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and stock car racing veterans aiming to show they can still drive pretty good too with Elliott Sadler and Sam Hornish Jr. being among the drivers in that group.

With fewer full-time Cup drivers competing for a Nationwide Series championship than in quite some time, the door is flung open for Nationwide drivers to fight for a championship among themselves. But there’s still each week’s event, where Cup drivers drop in with part-time schedules to go for a win.

Full-time drivers within the Nationwide Series have been up to the test, winning with and ahead of Sprint Cup Series competitors. With the season not even halfway over, Nationwide Series regulars have won seven times so far, one more than the total of six in the entire 2011 season.

Drivers in the NASCAR Nationwide Series eager to showcase their racing abilities alongside stock car racing’s best are doing just that, and that makes the NASCAR Nationwide Series more compelling than it has been in a while.

It’s that intensity that’ll be highlighted here on Labor Day Weekend during the NRA American Warrior 300. These hungry, up and coming drivers won’t just be going for a win on one of racing’s most exciting tracks, but they’ll do so under the lights on a Saturday Night! They’ll also be looking to break a drought. The last non-Cup driver to win a Nationwide Series event here came way back in 1995 when Johnny Benson Jr. claimed a win.

Racing’s top up and coming drivers will be out to end that drought on Labor Day Weekend, adding more spice to The Biggest Labor Day Party in the USA!
