1930s and 1940s pickups confirmed to appear in the Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama Show Car Garage
It's still 2015, but the 2016 Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama is right around the corner. And with it comes the third edition of the largest motoring festival of its kind in the South.
Each year, major attractions like monster trucks demonstrations, a swap meet, autocross competitions, classic car auctions and hundreds of classic, collector and how cars highlight the two-day event. One of the show favorites each year is the Show Car Garage. Dozens of highly decorated vehicles line the floor, a veritable museum for the automobile enthusiast replete with rare and regal vehicles seldom seen in public.
"Each year the Motorama staff scours the country to invite some of the finest vehicles in America," said Chas Sydney, one of the organizers of Motorama. "This year will be no different, as we are already lining up great vehicles."
Last year, a 1957 Chevrolet pickup owned by Gary Brown was one of the featured vehicles. Brown's truck was crowned the 2014 Goodguys Truck of the Year. It also earned a Final-Five award at the recent Barret Jackson Cup in Reno, Nevada.
Another featured vehicle from the Show Car Garage at the 2015 show was Chrys Ryan's Golden Empress Cadillac. It's been featured in several of the nation's top car magazines as well as a featured vehicle on "Power Block TV" on Velocity.
Already secured for the 2016 show is a green 1940 Ford pickup (pictured) owned by Robert Anderson from Savannah and built by Legens Hot Rod Shop out of Martin, Tennessee. The highly modified truck features a large back window and customized dashboard. Also coming to the 2016 Motorama is a 1937 Ford pickup (also pictured) owned by Bill Bowen and bui8lt by Designer Street Rods out of Cleveland, Georgia.
Be sure to save the dates for the 3rd annual Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama, April 16-17, 2016, and watch for more impressive vehicles to be added to the lineup.
