The Prilosec OTC BBQ Shootout Series will conclude at Atlanta Motor Speedway during the Pep Boys Auto 500 race weekend on Sept. 5 and 6.

Award winning BBQ pit masters from across the country will descend upon Atlanta Motor Speedway for the culmination of a four-date BBQ championship tour of NASCAR facilities sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. The Grand Champion of the four-date tour will be crowned following the Atlanta event.

Previous events took place at Texas Motor Speedway, Lowe's Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway.

Competing for tens of thousands of dollars in prizes and barbeque ragging rights, the invitation only event will feature more than a dozen professional teams, honorary judges and cooking demonstrations.

In addition to the demonstration and competition among BBQ pit masters, NASCAR Sprint Cup star Jeff Burton will participate in the activities.

Competitors will be judged in a number of barbeque categories including barbequed chicken, pork, and beef sandwiches, ribs, brisket and sauces. In addition, the teams will be selling barbeque products with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Speedway Children's Charities and the NASCAR Foundation.

Judging will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5 in the Display Lot near the Speed Stage. Awards will be distributed on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

SPEED Channel will film the competition for national television broadcast.
