All of this and more can be found at the 6th annual Thursday Thunder summer racing series, which kicks off June 5 and runs each Thursday night through Aug. 7 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. With tickets priced at just $5 for adults, $1 for children 6 to 12 and free for kids under 6, Thursday Thunder has been heralded as one of the most fun and affordable family activities in Atlanta each summer. Each of the 10 Thursday night programs will include a full program of Legends Car, Thunder Roadster and Bandolero racing, along with an entertaining special attraction and a Celebrity Grudge Match. Some of this season¿s highlights include Mascot Mania Night, Lawnmower racing, fireworks, a faster pastor race and even a grudge match including former NASCAR Winston Cup star Ernie Irvan. That¿s to say nothing of the on-track excitement. More than 100 race cars are expected to jam the pit area each Thursday night as drivers from across the Southeast battle around the paved quarter-mile Atlanta Motor Speedway frontstretch oval, Thunder Ring. Tickets for Thursday Thunder are available in advance at the speedway ticket office and at Gate 13 the night of the event. Parking is free. Spectator gates open at 6 p.m. with preliminary action beginning immediately.
