The Fast and The Furriest: Mascots Invade Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder
Tuesday, July 29, 2003
The fur will fly during this Thursday¿s celebrity mascot events at Mascot Mania Night presented by Star 94 at Atlanta Motor Speedway¿s Thursday Thunder.
Mascots from the Atlanta Hawks, Thrashers and Silverbacks, as well as Papa John's Pizza Slice and Atlanta Motor Speedway's own Monkey Wrench, will entertain the fans, sign autographs and mug for photos.
The long-awaited return of the kids¿ candy and coin scramble will also be this week. Kids age 12 and under will be invited down to track level to scoop as much candy and as many coins as their little hands will carry during this week¿s intermission.
There will also be plenty of excitement for the grown-ups this week, including the chance to win tickets to the Oct. 24-26 Georgia 500 weekend, as well as a host of other great prizes, such as dinner gift certificates, discount coupons and free merchandise from area businesses.
And the racing will be as great as always, with Thursday Thunder racers scrapping for every point as the season winds down. This week, officials are again expecting nearly 100 competitors from across the Southeast.
Thursday Thunder is a fun and affordable activity for the whole family. Admission for adults is just $5, children 6-11 are $1, and children 5 and under are free. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and the racing action will start immediately. For more information call (770) 946-4211, or purchase tickets Thursday evening at Gate 13.
