Atlanta Motor Speedway will kick off the long Independence Day weekend with a bang, hosting one of the first fireworks displays in the Southeast on Thursday, July 1, at the Kicks 101.5 FM First Fireworks night at Thursday Thunder.
Another record crowd is expected for the 15-minute fireworks display, which will be held at dark, or around 9:30 p.m. But before that, there are sure to be fireworks on the race track, as more than 75 competitors from around the Southeast will compete in eight different racing division.
The July 1st celebration at Atlanta Motor Speedway is the perfect solution for families. While the children play entertaining games on the concourse ¿ such as rock climbing and coloring contests ¿ the adults will be thrilled by the excitement of Legends, Bandolero and Roadster racing. Especially for next week¿s Independence Day celebration, Atlanta Motor Speedway will also add to the fun on concourse with clowns, face painting and free goody bags to the first 500 fans through the gates when they open at 6 p.m. In addition, back by popular demand, the entire field of Thursday Thunder drivers will be available for autographs on the track before the feature races start, at approximately 7:15 p.m.
Fans will also have the chance to register for the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 weekend tickets and other great prizes, including ride-alongs from the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
Also up for grabs will be an expanded list of giveaways from local business, including Sonic Drive-In, Tanger Outlet Centers and Washington Mutual. As always, there will also be loads of other fun stuff given away each night.
