Atlanta Motor Speedway officials announced today they will host the World Financial Group 150 American Speed Association (ASA) National Tour race on Friday, Oct. 29. ¿We certainly want to thank World Financial Group for stepping forward to assist us in making this race a reality,¿ said Ed Clark, president and general manager of Atlanta Motor Speedway. ¿We have promoted this event for almost a year and the drivers put on a terrific race in Charlotte. We expect another great event, combined with Georgia-Pacific NEXTEL Cup Qualifying Night, to provide a full night of exciting entertainment for the fans next Friday.¿ World Financial Group, Inc. Following the Oct. 14 ASA race at Lowe¿s Motor Speedway, ASA officials asked for an extension in paying the posted prize money to its competitors. In response, LMS officials guaranteed the prize money. The Charlotte prize money will be paid to all competitors by Lowe¿s Motor Speedway on Thursday, Oct. 28, when drivers arrive for the Atlanta race. Atlanta Motor Speedway will pay the World Financial Group 150 event purse directly to the ASA competitors following the completion of Friday¿s 60-lap (150-kilometer) race.
