Baldwin-Tafel Racing will now test Thursday on Atlanta Motor Speedway¿s 2.5-mile infield road course, as the five-man team prepares for the 43rd Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway, February 3-6.
Baldwin-Tafel Racing was created last year by local sports car racing legend Jack Baldwin (Marietta) and successful entrepreneur Jim Tafel (Marietta). The effort competes in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series GT class with a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.
At the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the team will race a five-man squad of champions including Baldwin, Tafel, 2004 Rolex 24 GT winner Robin Liddell (England), 2004 Grand-Am Cup champion Craig Stanton (Long Beach, Calif.) and young and talented Andrew Davis (Bogart, Ga.).
Baldwin, Tafel and Davis will be at next week¿s Atlanta test, which will be closed to the public.
