Georgia Power's Beach night at Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder featured a night full of beach music in the stands with Legends, Bandolero and Thunder Roadsters "making waves" around the track. The night was intense for the competitors as it was "double points night" at AMS, where the drivers earned double points for their finish, which can make a huge difference in determining the 2006 season champions.

Paige Monette started on the pole for the John Deere Roadsters feature. For opening laps, Jim Gresham raced her side by side taking the lead on lap three. Gresham was victorious, posting his third Thursday Thunder win this season.

The Zaxby's Young Guns and the John Deere Outlaws raced in a combined class with Young Gun Currie Pierce pacing the field to the green flag. Young Gun Matt Stover took over the lead on lap one and drove away from the field, claiming back to back wins. Jonathan Chandler was the winner of the John Deere Outlaw class.

Kyle Plott started the Atlanta Dental Team Bandits feature on the point. The feature was filled with many cautions, but Joseph Pilato conquered the field, posting his first career Thursday Thunder win.

Back Yard Burgers Semi-Pro feature started with Logan Boyett in the top spot. Billy Fulson stayed on Boyett's bumper lap after lap, but was unable to pass for the win. Boyett scored his second win of the season.

Skip Nichols was the pole-sitter for the Tanger Outlet Centers Masters feature. Track position proved to be essential, as Nichols led every lap to grab his first win of the season.

The McDonough Hospitality and Tourism Chargers feature started with Daniel Lingerfelt out front. Melissa Wade, wife of Master's driver Jimmy Wade, borrowed her husband's car and made her racing debut in this novice division. On lap one, points leader Jason Turner took over the lead and pulled away from the field. Turner crossed the finish line first, capturing his first win of the season.

Chris Cable led the Pro drivers to the green flag for the final feature of the night. On lap six, Casey Roderick took over the top spot. Roderick held off his fellow competitors to nab the win. His was his second win of the season, and his 16th Thursday Thunder win.

Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder will return on June 29 for the fifth of ten weeks of Legends, Bandolero and Thunder Roadster racing. Next week will feature Papa Johns Pizza's Red, White and Blue Extravaganza. The night will be the biggest of the season with an amazing fireworks show to close the show. The fireworks are produced by internationally renowned aerial illumination experts, Zambelli Fireworks Internationale.
