Troi Hayes, a 26-year veteran of the motorsports industry, has joined Atlanta Motor Speedway's staff as an Account Executive in the sales department.
Hayes, an Atlanta native, recently served as the senior director of marketing at Talladega Super Speedway. He also co-owned a television and radio station and served as a consultant for several entities including radio stations and automobile dealerships.
A graduate of Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala., Hayes, 45, looks at the opportunity he has at AMS as a homecoming of sorts.
"This is coming home to me," the Hampton, Ga. resident said. "I have been around racing my entire professional career and the chance to work at AMS is an opportunity to be part of a sport I genuinely love."
Hayes was named the Vietnam Veterans of America Alabama Citizen of the Year in 2004 and served on the Board of Directors for both the East Alabama United Way and East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy chapters. Hayes also served on the Board of Trustees for the Birmingham, Ala. Chamber of Commerce.
When Hayes is not at AMS, he can be found riding his motorcycle or spending time with his 10-year-old daughter, Madelyne.
