NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Championship contender Denny Hamlin and PGA TOUR golf star Davis Love III were both at Atlanta Motor Speedway today unveiling a new paint scheme Hamlin will drive in the October 29 Bass Pro Shops 500. The scheme recognizes the FedExCup, PGA TOUR's dramatic season-long points championship, which culminates with a four-tournament playoff, similar to the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup. Love rode shotgun while Hamlin drove the No. 11 FedExCup car around the high-banks of AMS. "I'm going to go as hard as I can until I scare myself," Hamlin said when asked how bad Hamlin was going to try and scare Love on the drive. After Hamlin turned several laps in the No. 11 Chevrolet, Love got his turn wheeling the car around AMS. "Denny was going so fast, it seemed like he was constantly turning; like the track was a complete circle," Love remarked. "When I drove, I could actually tell there were straightaways." Both men had mutual respect for each others sport. "It was amazing that Denny could get in a car he has never driven and on the third lap, be wide open," Love said. After Hamlin and Love got their hot laps in, Love gave Hamlin some driving tips of his own, as the two men launched golf balls down pit road, towards Turn One. Fans can catch Denny Hamlin and the No. 11 FedExCup Chevrolet at NASCAR's fastest track in the Bass Pro Shops 500 on October 29. Fans can purchase tickets to the Bass Pro Shops 500 race weekend by contacting the AMS ticket office at (877) 9-AMS-TIX, (770) 946-4211 or at an authorized Ticketmaster retail outlet.
