Qualifying: The better of two laps will determine a driver's official qualifying speed
for the Pep Boys Auto 500. The top 35 cars based on owner's points are guaranteed a starting spot in the race. The other starters will be determined by the seven fastest qualifiers plus one position reserved for a past NEXTEL Cup Series Champion. The starting order for the 43 car field is set according to qualifying speed. Georgia-Pacific Qualifying Night begins at 7:10 p.m. (ET) and airs on ESPN 2 at 7:00 p.m.
Radio/TV: ABC will televise the Pep Boys Auto 500 live, beginning with
a 30-minute pre-race show at 1:30 p.m. The Performance Racing
Network (PRN) will also broadcast the race live to its affiliate radio stations beginning at 1:15 p.m.
