Tonight's running of Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder series has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder will return on August 7 for final event of 10-week season of Legends, Bandolero and Thunder Roadster racing. Each division will run double features next week to complete a full 10 weeks of points racing.

Prior to the weather issues, the Roadsters class ran the Speedway Challenge No. 2 race, a make-up from the week six cancellation.

Skip Nichols paced held the pole position for the Thunder Roadsters feature on Atlanta Motor Speedway's full 1.54-mile quad-oval. On the race's first lap, Brian Weimer surged ahead with the push of Taylor Hull. Despite Weimer developing an early advantage, Johnny Rucker was able to claim the lead midway through the race with the help of draft partner and points leader Bubba Harry. The pairs of draft partners jockeyed for position through the final lap when Weimer pushed a nose ahead of Rucker to claim a tight win.

Harry and Rucker tied for the fastest lap speed during the full-length feature with a speed of 133.69 mph.

Featuring a full slate of competitive racing, Thursday Thunder is an affordably-priced activity that offers something for spectators of all ages. Tickets are just $5 for adults and $1 for children 6-11 (children under 6 are free) for each evening of family fun and grass-roots racing.
