After a season-long showcase of speed, Atlanta Motor Speedway's Friday Night Drags will reach a climax on Championship Night this Friday, as bracket-style ladders will be used to determine the season's champions.

Championship Night Ladders

Championship Night of the 2009 Friday Night Drags season will culminate with a ladder-based seeding system to determine the champions in 13 classes of straight-line speed.

With points set after 12 weeks of drag racing competition, the top-seven competitors in each points class will be seeded into a ladder to determine the season champion. The eighth and final spot will open to all entries this Friday, allowing one competitor in each division to race his or her way into the Friday Night Drags' Championship Night ladders. In non-points racing divisions, the top competitors during Week 13 will be seeded to determine a champion.

Following competition for the open-entry positions, the eight-seeded competitors will face off until one season winner is determined in each division.

Show-N-Shine Season Winner's Showcase

In addition to the weekly Show-N-Shine fun at Friday Night Drags, Championship Night will feature Season Winner's Showcase featuring the top show cars from the 2009 Friday Night Drags season.

Week 13's Show-N-Shine will feature the winners from each week during the Friday Night Drags season, both on display and in a pre-race parade lap. In addition, the Show-N-Shine will continue to feature weekly entries and award prizes in six classes.

Johnny Jones won the Week 12 Show-N-Shine Classic Car Specialty Award in his 1941 Willys Coupe.
