Atlanta Motor Speedway officials have announced the schedule for the 2010 Friday Night Drags summer drag racing series.

Atlanta Motor Speedway will play host to 17 Friday Night Drags events in 2010, the Speedway's fourth full-season of drag racing competition. The 2010 season will feature 14 points races running from June 4 through September 10 with an off-date scheduled for September 3, preceding the track's Labor Day weekend NASCAR Sprint Cup race. The season will begin with three non-points events for testing on April 30, May 14 and May 21.

In addition to the weekly exhibition of straight-line speed, each Friday Night Drags event will feature a Show-N-Shine special class and a family fun event. Show-N-Shine special classes include "60's Muscle Cars," "Hot Rod Heaven," and "Paint Lover's Paradise," while family fun events include kids' candy and coin scrambles, ride along night, and kids' Power Wheels races.

Founded in 2006, Atlanta Motor Speedway' Friday Night Drags features head-to-head, street-style drag racing on the Speedway's eighth-mile pit lane drag strip. The series is open to any automobile and competitor with a valid driver's license. Competitors are placed into one of 14 drag racing classes.

Entry to drag race or for the Show N' Shine car show is $20 or competitors can enter both for $30. Spectator admission is only $7 and exterior parking is free, while infield parking is $20.
