The Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama presented by RacingJunk.com will add a tasty new addition to its 2017 lineup that will have motoring enthusiasts' mouths watering as they celebrate Atlanta Motor Speedway's gigantic annual two-day celebration of anything with an engine.

The first-ever Atlanta Barbeque Classic, a barbeque contest officially sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, will debut during this year's event on April 22-23, and is the newest signature event benefiting the Atlanta chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.

Heralding competition among many of the most notable barbeque connoisseurs in the South, the two-day contest is open to any and all barbeque competitors ready to put their secret recipe to the test and will include challenges preparing brisket, chicken, ribs and pork. Contest entries will be judged by an official panel, with a total purse prize of $10,000.

Additionally, People's Choice awards will be handed out on both Saturday and Sunday of the event. There are no limitations on the type of dish entered, and it can be prepared prior to the weekend event.

Spectators can visit and explore the barbeque competition area free with a $12 admission to the Atlanta Motorama, while wrist bands will be available to purchase for $5 and will provide five one-ounce samples of competing teams' barbeque as well as a ticket to vote in that day's People's Choice Award.

Competitor entry into the Atlanta Barbeque Classic is $350 and includes a 20' x 20' space, 20-amp electrical power and up to five Atlanta Motorama entry passes. Larger spaces are available for a nominal fee. Entries will be accepted on a first-paid basis for up to 48 teams, and competitors can register now by accessing an official entry form at http://atlanta.speedwaycharities.org/events/.
