The Atlanta chapter of Speedway Children's Charities held its annual Jingle Mingle awards ceremony on December 6 and awarded $117,615 to 24 different organizations throughout the state of Georgia.

Speedway Children's Charities mission is to care for children in educational, financial, social and medial need in order to help them lead productive lives. The Atlanta chapter was formed in 1994 to raise funds for qualified children's charitable organizations. To date, SCC Atlanta has distributed over $3.3 million to its charities.

Each year the money is raised in a variety of ways, through events such as a golf tournament, motorcycle run, clay shoot and auctions.

Other special awards were given. The Buster Dickerson Award for volunteer of the year was awarded to Ginger Bedell. SCC Atlanta Chapter Director Ginger Moats said, "Ginger Bedell is very deserving of this award. She and her family have been volunteering with SCC for many years. This year, she was there for Thursday Thunder, Friday Night Drags and all of the AdvoCare 500 race week. It is through volunteers like Ginger that enables SCC to continue our mission."

Also, SCC Atlanta Chapter Director Ginger Moats was awarded a signed commendation by Governor Nathan Deal for her work with SCC and her community involvement.

SCC gives special thanks for the Jingle Mingle event to AngusBest.com, Bruster's of Griffin and Wrecker 1.
