Atlanta Motor Speedway Donates Canned Goods To 11Alive Can-a-Thon
Atlanta Motor Speedway donated more than 250 pounds of canned food items to the 11Alive Can-a-Thon on Friday, Dec. 6 during a donation event at Turner Field. The cans were donated by guests at Atlanta Motor Speedway's Holiday Light Spectacular Gift of Lights earlier in the week in exchange for a $3 off their light show admission.
In its 31st year, the Can-a-Thon donates canned food items to the Salvation Army, which in turn assists those in need during the holiday season. By partnering with the Can-a-Thon, Atlanta Motor Speedway and its fans are able to help the less fortunate.
Visitors to the Holiday Light Spectacular Gift of Lights will have two additional opportunities between now and Christmas to receive a discount on vehicle admission in exchange for a donation. From Dec. 9-12, anyone donating a gently used winter coat or blanket will receive a coupon for $3 off one vehicle entry. A donation of a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots from Dec. 16-19 will also receive a coupon for $3 off one vehicle entry at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Gift of Lights show hours are 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday and holidays. Cost of entrance is $15 per car (six passengers or less) Monday through Thursday, $20 per car (six passengers or less) Friday through Sunday and holidays while vans/buses will cost $15 plus $1 per passenger Monday through Thursday and $20 plus $1 per passenger Friday through Sunday and holidays.
