Atlanta Motor Speedway will play host to Accident Avoidance Workshops on the week of Dec. 8, allowing student drivers and parents to prepare and practice for potential emergency situations.
The Accident Avoidance Workshops are a seven-hour, one-of-a-kind program that allow student drivers and their parents to gain hands-on experience to prepare for real-life emergencies. The program is broken into two segments, including a three-hour classroom session and four hours of driving experience that allow participants to experience their own car's capabilities.
The classroom segment will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 8 in the Atlanta Motor Speedway Tara Ballroom and students can schedule a morning or afternoon session for their in-car experience on Saturday, Dec. 11 or Sunday, Dec. 12 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Participants are required to possess a valid driver's license or permit and a parent or guardian must be in attendance with the student.
Graduates of the Accident Avoidance Workshops have been shown to be more than 75 percent less likely to be involved in an automobile crash and the program is the only on the East Coast to be certified a Level 5 Defensive Driving Program by the National Defensive Driving Institute.
With Atlanta Motor Speedway's support, participants can receive a $50 discount off the program's $259 cost by using promotion code, "AMS10," and $10 will also be donated to the student's high school.
