Atlanta Motor Speedway's 2010 season of Friday Night Drags will hit high speed this Friday, April 30 as the season starts with the first of three non-points events.

Friday's drag races and Show-N-Shine car show will mark the season-opening date of the 17-week Friday Night Drags season of straight-line speed and spectacular show cars. As a non-points event, this Friday's race will likely be used by many competitors to better prep and class their vehicles for the season's first points event on June 4.

With many competitors eager to hit the track and test for the 2010 points season, Friday's exhibition will likely play host to the return of the series top stars. Those expected to return include back-to-back Pro champion Tony Morse of Grantville and fan-favorite and Super Bike star Michelle Ewing of Sharpsburg, who posted a remarkable seven wins in 10 2009 Super Bike races.

Spectator entry to Atlanta Motor Speedway's Friday Night Drags is just $7 and children ages five and younger will be admitted free of charge.

Spectator parking is available in the Infield for $20, allowing fans to bring coolers and chairs into the Infield, while outside parking is free. Motorcycles can also park free on the Infield. Grandstand gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Drag racing entry is open to all competitors with a current and valid issued driver's license and a helmet. Entry is open to any car, truck, motorcycle, ATV or motorized vehicle. Entry to drag race or enter the Show-N-Shine car show is just $20 for one or $30 to enter both. The Infield will open for competitors at 6:00 p.m. and drag practice will run from 6:15 p.m. through 8:15 p.m., prior to the 8:25 p.m. driver's meeting. Drag racing elimination will begin at 9:19 p.m.

Prior to the start of the 2010 Friday Night Drags points opener on June 4, additional non-points events are schedule for May 14 and 21.
