Straight-line speed comes back to Atlanta Motor Speedway's pit-lane drag strip this Friday, May 21 for the third-of-17 summer Friday Night Drags events featuring street-style racing.

Friday's event will feature a full slate of 15 classes of drag racing action and the Show-N-Shine car show and Speedway cruise.

While a pair of 2009 Champions claimed victory in Friday Night Drags first event, the event's second week featured just one repeat victor – Samuel Mendiola in the Pro Four class – a testament to competitive parity in the Friday Night Drags series.

The first two events of the 2010 Friday Night Drags season have featured more than 250 drag racing competitors and more than 100 Show-N-Shine entrants each.

As a special bonus for Atlanta's local racing enthusiasts, fans are encouraged to retain their ticket stub from this Friday's event for free admission to the season-opening date of Thursday Thunder Legends car racing on Thursday, June 3.

Drag racing entry is open to all competitors with a current and valid issued driver's license and a helmet. Entry is open to any car, truck, motorcycle, ATV or motorized vehicle. Entry to drag race or enter the Show-N-Shine car show is just $20 for one or $30 to enter both. The Infield will open for competitors at 6:00 p.m. and drag practice will run from 6:15 p.m. through 8:15 p.m., prior to the 8:25 p.m. driver's meeting. Drag racing elimination will begin at 9:19 p.m.
