Dwight Pilgram has been named Legends of Georgia director at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Pilgram will oversee the day-to-day management of the Legends of Georgia program including car and part sales, competitor communications and event operations.
"Dwight will do a tremendous job leading our Legends racing program at Atlanta Motor Speedway and brings a great amount of experience to the role," said Atlanta Motor Speedway president and general manager Ed Clark. "As a five-time Georgia State Masters Champion who has previously worked in our Legends program, Dwight will be a familiar face to our competitors."
Pilgram takes over the Legends of Georgia program from Pete Horne who retired after a decade at the Speedway. Horne will continue to work Legends events at the Speedway.
In addition to winning five Georgia State Masters division championships and assisting with the Legends of Georgia program from 2003 through 2008, Pilgram, a McDonough resident, was named the 2003 National Grand Champion. He also was the 2005 Masters division champion and 2007 Thunder Roadsters division champion at Atlanta Motor Speedway's summer short-track racing series, Thursday Thunder.
