More entertainment and prizes have been added to the Atlanta Motor Speedway open house on Saturday, May 12 that is free to the public. Driving their own vehicles on the track and an all-access NASCAR package are just part of the fun that fans in attendance on Saturday can be a part of.

Along with a full program of Legends racing on the “Thunder Ring” ¼-mile oval, there will be free giveaways and the opportunity for attendees to drive their car on the speedway’s famed 1.54-mile racing surface, where many of the all-time greats in American auto racing have competed.

Following the Legends event, fans who have purchased a ticket for the Sunday, Sept. 2 AdvoCare 500 will get to drive their vehicle on the track at no charge. Those not having purchased a ticket can do so for $30.

Attendees can also test drive a Legends car following the conclusion of the Legends race. Anyone interested in getting behind the wheel of the vehicle that tomorrow’s racing stars pilot on the “Thunder Ring” can do so for $50 or try out a Bandolero racer for $30.

Fans in attendance will also be able to register for a variety of prize giveaways, from gift cards to Montgomery Gentry music. The country duo will be performing at the Fast Cars & Guitars pre-race concert prior to the AdvoCare 500.

The grand prize of the day will be a complete AdvoCare 500 All-Access Package, which will include two tickets to the AdvoCare 500, reserved parking, stage front Pre-Race Party Passes for the Fast Cars & Guitars concert, access to the Sprint Cup drivers meeting and a guided garage tour prior to the race. This premium experience can’t be purchased, so those in attendance on Saturday will have the opportunity to win a very special race experience for the biggest Labor Day party in the USA.

In addition to all the on-track activity, there will be a variety of other activities including a classic car show, Legends car display, the Coca-Cola Pit Crew Challenge Trailer, rock wall, inflatable slide, bungee jump, photos with the AMS pace car and trophy and behind-the-scenes tours of the speedway.

The AMS gift shop will be open until 5:00 p.m. and customers can take advantage of a 15 percent discount on merchandise all day, plus an extra 10 percent discount with the purchase of any AdvoCare 500 ticket. The gift shop will also be conducting an inventory blowout sale, with many items priced as low as $1.

The day’s activities will start bright and early at 8:00 a.m. with the Speedway Children’s Charities “Race to the Finish Line” 5K/10K/1 Mile Fun Run. Following the conclusion of the race, bicyclists will be compete in a 30 mile/60 mile event at 10:15 a.m. A portion of both the running and cycling races will take place on the 1.54-mile racing surface at the speedway.
