With the 2012 Legends Asphalt Nationals only one month away, entries are beginning to roll in from competitors across the nation, and even other countries, as they look to battle for a national championship in Legends car and Thunder Roadster competition.

The first entry for the 21st-annual Legends Nationals is from Canadian driver Ira Laughy. Laughy, who hails from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is the 2011 Canadian Masters Champion and will compete against the best-of-the-best in Legends car competition during the last weekend in October at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Drivers from all over the United States and from other countries will be on-hand to tackle one of the country’s toughest short tracks, the quarter-mile “Thunder Ring” at AMS.

The weekend’s action will also include the 13th-annual Thunder Car nationals, as those drivers will also race for a national championship in that division. Bandolero car racing will also be a part of the schedule.

The 2012 Legends Asphalt Nationals will take place Oct. 25-27, with upwards of 200 drivers being entered in competition for the weekend. Grandstand gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 with practice, heat races and the Race of Champions for Legends cars.
