Hello again, race fans! This is Atlanta Motor Speedway President and GM Ed Clark with the latest installment of the Inside Line, the exclusive newsletter for you, the members of the Atlanta Motor Speedway Insiders Club!

Let's talk some racing!

When you look at the career of Jeff Gordon, some of its biggest moments have occurred here at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Gordon's career was jump-started at Atlanta in 1992, the same year that he caught the eye of Rick Hendrick before going on to make his first Cup start later that year here at AMS. As Gordon's career ascended, he enjoyed many memorable moments here, hoisting multiple championship trophies and winning for the 85th time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in the 2011 AdvoCare 500.

From Gordon catching the eye of Rick Hendrick in 1992 and his first Cup start later that year, hoisting multiple championship trophies and his 85th win coming at AMS in 2011, if you're a fan of Jeff Gordon, Atlanta Motor Speedway is likely a special place.

In less than two weeks, Gordon will take center-stage again. With the AdvoCare 500 being the next-to-last event before the Chase for the Championship is set, Atlanta is a huge race for drivers looking to make the Chase, and that includes Gordon.

Currently 14th in the points standings, Gordon is 26 markers out of the top ten. As Gordon said on TV before this past Sunday's race, he pretty much needs a combination of at least one win and top-five finishes during the next three races in order to make the Chase.

Can Gordon rally back? Either way, we'll all find out on Labor Day Weekend as one of the sport's biggest names will pretty much need to win or else.
