Hello again, race fans! This is Atlanta Motor Speedway President and GM Ed Clark with the latest installment of the Inside Line, the exclusive newsletter for you, the members of the Atlanta Motor Speedway Insiders Club!

Let's talk some racing!

Can you believe that we are less than 75 days away from the AdvoCare 500 NASCAR night race weekend! Labor Day Weekend is getting here fast!

And the closer we get to welcoming all of you back to the track on race weekend, more things begin to happen here at the Speedway!

Last week, we had an exciting announcement. We're thrilled to welcome Great Clips and Jeff Foxworthy's™ Grit Chips, who will jointly sponsor our NASCAR Nationwide Series event on Aug. 31, the Great Clips / Grit Chips 300!

We have also announced Jake's Ice Cream as the Official Ice Cream of Atlanta Motor Speedway. A few us have gotten to sample it, and let's just say that you'll want to eat some of it when it's sold here at the track on Labor Day Weekend as well as at Friday Night Drags & Show-N-Shine and Thursday Thunder!

We also had cars on the track here last week for two days of Goodyear tire testing as Goodyear works on developing a tire to be supplied to race teams during Labor Day Weekend! In a word, the cars were fast when they were on the track! At one point, drivers were turning laps as fast as qualifying speeds from last year while doing laps that were in race trim. There was no shortage of star power in the cars, either as Kasey Kahne, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Trevor Bayne, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., Marcos Ambrose and Denny Hamlin each participated.

The calendar moving into the summer months also means we're getting closer to the debut of Global Rallycross Racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Aug. 10 with Global Rallycross Atlanta! These cars are something exciting to watch! They can accelerate to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds and they race on surfaces composed of asphalt, dirt and water in a form of racing that's a combination of door-to-door rally car competition and drifting! Tickets are just $20 and for $5 more, you can gain paddock access!

Ask The GM

When does the infield open to campers on Labor Day Weekend?

If you want to talk about one of the most exciting things to watch during race weekend, this would be it! We enjoy looking out over the infield as campers arrive, moving in like an invasive force to take over the infield campgrounds!

This year, we'll open the infield tunnel to campers on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 2 p.m.! If you've always wanted to camp out in the infield, you still have a chance to do so - a very limited number of infield spaces still remain! Call (877) 926-7849 for information!

We look forward to seeing you at the track!
