Hello again, race fans! This is Atlanta Motor Speedway President and GM Ed Clark with the latest installment of the Inside Line, the exclusive newsletter for you, the members of the Atlanta Motor Speedway Insiders Club!
Let's talk some racing!
This is one of the most unique, if not exciting weeks we have had in quite some time at Atlanta Motor Speedway. For starters, the AdvoCare 500 NASCAR night race weekend is less than a month away. We trust that you're looking forward to it as much as we are!
This Saturday, we'll host Global Rallycross Championship racing for the first time in the SYLVANIA Silverstar® zXe Global Rallycross Atlanta event. International competitors from as diverse of racing backgrounds as you can imagine will be here racing and doing so just six days after the Los Angeles X-Games!
In short, GRC racing is a combination of action sports, motocross and short track racing. But the event itself will only be the beginning of an exciting 28 hours or so.
On Friday Night, we'll host another round our immensely popular grassroots drag racing series, Friday Night Drags & Show-N-Shine. After that ends around 11 pm., we'll get to work right away on turning a pile of about 15 tons of dirt into a racetrack for Saturday's GRC event.
Needless to say, it's going to be quite a fun week around the Atlanta Motor Speedway offices!
Ask The GM
Do you offer track tours?
Tours of Atlanta Motor Speedway are offered most days year-round and are $5 for adults and $2 for kids 6-11 with 5 and under being free. A track tour includes a drive around the track in a tour van as well as the garage area and victory lane, depending on what other track activity may be going on at the same.
Track tours may be purchased at the AMS gift store between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. We encourage fans to (770) 707-7970 to make sure tours will be given when you plan on visiting.
We look forward to seeing you at the track!
