Friday Night Drags and MCR Safety Show-N-Shine continued its season Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, with fans being treated to a wide cross-section of drivers finishing the night in Victory Lane.
Friday Night Drags not only saw three drivers win their third race in a row to begin the season, but also saw a handful of championship favorites emerge victorious to begin 2011.
Two McDonough racers, Mark White and David Armstrong in addition to Griffin’s Nicolas Feliciano each continued a three-race winning streak to begin the season in their respective classes of Super Pro, ATV Modified and Sportsman.
A trio of drivers well known to local drag racing fans also claimed division victories. Mason Mercure of Fairburn won the Super Bike Division on a 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa with Stockbridge’s Chuck Poole winning Truck Advanced in a 1986 Chevrolet. David Sisk claimed victory in the Pro Division behind the wheel of a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro.

Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Friday Night Drags resumes May 20. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and nightly drag race eliminations start after 9:00 p.m. There will be no event on May 27.
