In the final night of racing before the series points opener, a number of drivers harnessed valuable momentum in the fourth week of action at Friday Night Drags & MCR Safety Show-N-Shine on Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
While David Armstrong and Mark White, both of McDonough, remained the only drivers to win all four events in 2011 at Friday Night Drags, a handful of other drivers picked up victories, which will likely provide a spark heading into the points opener on June 3.
There will be no Friday Night Drags event May 27.
White again won in the Super Pro Division in his 1967 Ford Shelby Mustang with Armstrong doing so in ATV Modified on a Yamaha Banshee. Cham Sadiq was one of a handful of racers adding to an early-season win total on Friday, with the Tuskegee, Ala., competitor winning the Street Motorcycle II Division for the third time in four races on a Yamaha R6. Scott White also picked up his third win of the season, taking the Truck Advanced win in a 1973 Chevrolet Pick-Up.
The Street Outlaw Division saw its fourth different winner of 2011, this time with 2009 Champion Chris Stripling, of Stockbridge, beating out Jerritt Scott for the win while driving his 1987 Ford Mustang.
