Some new faces found their way to Victory Lane on Friday during the sixth week of Friday Night Drags and MCR Safety Show-N-Shine at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Grantville’s Tony Morse broke Mark White’s five-week winning streak in the Super Pro Division, becoming the first driver other than White to claim a final round Super Pro win in 2011. Morse won while driving a 1990 Pontiac Trans-Am. With his victory, every division at Friday Night Drags has more than one different winner through the first six races of the season.
A pair of racers from Jackson claimed motorcycle victories on Friday with Charles Benton winning Super Bike and James Roberts on Sportbike.
A trio of drivers continued to pad early-season points leads with their second points victory in a row. Stockbridge’s Chris Stripling claimed the Street Outlaw win with Danny Mason (Locust Grove) winning Truck Advanced and Rick Gilbert of Locust Grove doing so in Diesel Truck.
Each driver has earned the maximum number of points that a driver may earn at Friday Night Drags, which held its points opener last week.
