On Thursday, Speedway Children's Charities at Atlanta Motor Speedway hosted the Miss Teen Georgia Pageant contestants for a lunch and motivational speaker session in the Marcy Scott Media Center.

"We are extremely excited to be a partner of the pageant and hope to do our part to ensure these tremendous young ladies have an exciting and memorable experience in Henry County," said Scott Fillmore, executive director of Speedway Children's Charities.

This is the first of a two-year agreement for the city of McDonough to host both the Miss Georgia and Miss Teen Georgia pageants. The events began Thursday and will culminate with the winners crowned on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Henry County Performing Arts Center.

Speedway Children's Charities Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1994, is committed to raising funds for qualified children's charitable organizations. To date, the Atlanta chapter of Speedway Children's Charities has raised over $1 million for local children.
