After a successful first-ever Street Wars night at O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags last month, Street Wars II will take over the pit-lane drag strip at Atlanta Motor Speedway this Friday night, as drivers go to battle in the second of three can't-miss nights with handsome cash rewards and championships at stake.

Summoning unprecedented competition among many of the fastest drag cars from across the region, this week's lineup will supply an overloaded combination of thunderous engines and heart-pounding speed in the most adrenaline-pumping side-by-side motorsports spectacle in the South.

In last month's debut Street Wars I, John Bonner of Molena left the track more than $1,000 richer after racing his way to Victory Lane in the 28-Inch Big-Tire division behind the wheel of his powerful 1998 Ford Mustang. Meanwhile, Sharpsburg's David Waksman dominated the Hard-Tire Division, winning with his 1994 Chevrolet Camaro and taking home over $500.

Once again, this Friday night's Street Wars II will feature the same two high-powered, racing divisions paying cash prizes to both its winners and finalists. The 28-inch and 275 drag radial big-tire division will pay $1,000 guaranteed to Friday night's winner, as well as a racer's pot, while the runner-up will take home $250. Semi-final losers will also each be awarded $50.

Similarly, the hard-tire division will award $500 to its winner, with the runner-up and semi-final losers earning $50.

For drivers who have either chosen not to participate in the payout divisions or whose vehicles do not qualify to compete in them, Street Wars II will be the second of a three-night points series that will crown a 2017 Street Wars title in each racing division but is separate from the overall 2017 Friday Night Drags season points championship.

The hot-ticket Street Wars season for 2017 will conclude with Street Wars III on Aug. 4. Following Friday night's Street Wars II, Friday Night Drags will continue its regular season with Week 9 action next Friday, June 30.

Prior to Friday's Street Wars II racing action, the weekly Show-N-Shine will take place in the infield garage areas. Participants will show their vehicles in one of nine judged categories, with awards handed out to the top three vehicles in each class. Show-N-Shine car owners will then participate in the weekly track cruise on the legendary AMS high banks at 8 p.m., prior to the beginning of drag racing eliminations.

Participation in O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags is open to any car, truck or motorcycle-driver possessing a valid driver's license for just $20. Registration gates open each week at 6 p.m. at the speedway's main infield tunnel, and all racing competitors must sign a safety waiver and wear a DOT-approved helmet.

Show-N-Shine registration is also just $20 apiece per vehicle and is open to all interested participants.

Spectator admission to O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags is just $10 with children five and under free. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and exterior parking is free, while infield parking is $20.
