Atlanta Motor Speedway Thursday Thunder has been cancelled for Thursday, July 7 and Thursday, July 14 due to the tornado damage received at the speedway on Wednesday evening.  AMS officials will assess how the damage to the facility will affect the remainder of the 2005 Thursday Thunder schedule.

The grandstands at the speedway were in shambles. John Spink/AJC	A light tower just off the track was toppled during the storm.
A five-story scoreboard was toppled by the winds.	Debris litters turn one at the speedway.
Suites were ripped apart by the wind.	Fences at the speedway were bent and ripped apart.
Condominiums at the speedway were extensively damaged.	A flag near the Richard Petty garden at AMS was shredded by the wind.
