Day 1 of the 3rd Annual Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama concluded under warm, sunny skies at Atlanta Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon.

One of the largest automotive festivals of its kind in the South, the Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama is a massive celebration of anything with an engine. From hot rods to rat rods to motorcycles, to monster trucks, freestyle motocross, go-karting experiences, a massive vendor midway and much more, there are plenty of attractions for all ages.

Fans were greeted early with a thunderous car-crushing display by world-renowned BIGFOOT® monster trucks, a pinstripers showcase and open Autocross competitions.

Other attractions included the Pull-A-Part Swap Meet, a classic car auction, an arts-and-crafts fair, live music on the Bojangles' Stage and countless other fan-friendly activities.

"We come here every year," said Jim Johannes of Marietta, who came to the show with Classic Glass Corvette Club. "My favorite part about the show is the people. I like the whole big atmosphere, the ambiance."

Celebrities who appeared throughout the day on the Bojangles' Stage to meet and greet enthusiastic fans and take questions included NHRA drivers Jason Line and Greg Anderson, who have combined to win each of the first four Pro Stock Division races of the NHRA season, "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, the father of modern drag racing, Lou Santiago, TV show host and personality and members of Kenny Bartram's Steel Rodeo freestyle motocross team.

"It's just a fun time for the kids and for the adults," said show attendee Charlie from Ellenwood. "It's just a big, fun outing for the whole group."

The 3rd Annual Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama continues with its second and final day of competition, attractions and fun for the whole family tomorrow, Sunday, April 17.
