The Super Pro Shootout featuring the Harbin's Mechanical Services Super Pro Division will take center stage this Friday night, as the fastest cars in Georgia gather at Atlanta Motor Speedway in an all-out showdown for the first-ever cash payout at O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags.

Not only will divisional championship points be on the line; the winner of the evening's Harbin's Mechanical Services Super Pro Division will take home a $500 check and year-long bragging rights as shootout champion.

For Jonesboro's Billy Clevenger, the purse would undoubtedly sweeten what is shaping up to be a likely season championship. His 1963 Chevrolet Corvette is a mainstay in the division finals on Friday nights.

"We're saving some for next week," said Clevenger following his Week 15 win last Friday. "We want to come get that money."

His suitably sanguine disposition comes at no surprise. He leads the division with five wins in 2015, including eight final-round appearances. But with new drivers and comparably fast cars expected to emerge in pursuit of the cash, the prizewinner entering Week 16's Super Pro Shootout is anyone's guess.

No doubt, the path to the cash goes through Clevenger.

Across the other 17 division, competition will necessarily ramp up Friday night with just three weeks left in the season and three opportunities to seize critical points in the championship races.

The Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Division, Truck Advanced Division, Harding Plumbing Heating and Cooling Domestic Division, Tuner Division, Sport Compact Division, Super Bike Division and Motorcycle Division are all separated by from the top down by just a handful of points, leaving little room for competitors to falter.

Friday's Week 16 action kicks off with the season's final edition of the Kid's Candy Scramble, which will take place on the AMS infield just before the beginning of drag racing eliminations.

O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags revs up each Friday night through Aug. 28. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., prior to the Show-N-Shine competition, and racing gets underway just after 9 p.m.
