Drivers competing in this summer's 10th season of O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags will have more than just a divisional championship and bragging rights to race for in remaining seven weeks of the series that wraps up Aug. 19.

Champions in each of the 18 racing divisions will be awarded their choice of four tickets to either the NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway Sept. 16-18 or the NHRA Toyota Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Oct. 27-30.

"O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags is one of the largest grassroots, street-style drag racing series in the nation, and we owe that distinction to each of our drivers who support the program week in and week out," said AMS president Ed Clark. "As a thank you, we're offering each division champion an opportunity to take in one of NHRA's signature drag racing events while visiting another one our SMI family facilities."

Currently, 10 of the 18 divisions are separated at the top of the standings by just three points or less heading into tonight's Week 10 action. Of those, six are one-point differences, while the lead for the Domestic Advanced class is deadlocked between the top-two drivers with just seven nights remaining.

Trophies for each of the 18 division winners - along with the tickets to his or her choice of NHRA events - will be awarded on Championship Night, Aug. 19.

Spectator tickets for the weekly O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags are just $8, and children 5 and under are admitted free. Entry to drag race or for the Show-N-Shine and Track Cruise is just $20 or competitors can purchase a combo ticket for $30.

For the Show-N-Shine car show, judging begins at 6:30 p.m. Entrants are invited to participate in a Show-N-Shine Speedway Cruise around Atlanta's 1.54-mile quad oval track at 8:20 p.m., but are encouraged to return to their vehicles before 8:00 p.m. to stage for the Cruise. Following the Cruise, the Show-N-Shine Awards Ceremony will take place at 8:55 p.m. on the Speedway's frontstretch in front of thousands of racing fans.

Drivers participating in the track cruise are required to attend the mandatory driver's meeting at 7:30 p.m. to gain access to the speedway oval.

Grandstand gates open at 6:30 p.m., and nightly drag race eliminations start after 9 p.m. More information can be found at www.atlantamotorspeedway.com/drags or by calling the Atlanta Motor Speedway Ticket Office at (770) 946-4211.
