Atlanta Motor Speedway has added to its staff, naming Eric Allgood as Director of Operations.

Allgood is no stranger to the Speedway, having worked as a contractor at the Speedway since the late 1970s. For the past 15 years, the Fayetteville native has also owned and operated his own electrical contracting business EA Electric, providing services to several Speedway Motorsports facilities.

"With his long history with AMS, Allgood brings a wealth of knowledge about the facility," said Executive Vice President and General Manager Brandon Hutchison. "We are excited to have him as part of the team."

In the last seven years Allgood has also provided closed-circuit television broadcasts for media centers and suites at a dozen Speedways including Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, and Charlotte Motor Speedway. As Director of Operations at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Allgood will oversee upkeep and enhancements of nearly every aspect of the Speedway and its grounds, from lawn care, to technical upgrades, to maintenance of the famous 1.54-mile racing surface.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the operations department a world-class facility like Atlanta Motor Speedway," said Allgood. "I look forward to an exciting future with the Speedway."

NASCAR returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway March 13-15, 2020, with all three national touring series racing on the famous 1.54-mile track during the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 weekend.
