Four wheels aren't required to compete in O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags. In fact, some of the most spirited competition can be found in the two-wheeled motorcycle divisions.

Take it from Bryan Stephens of Riverdale, who took his 2012 Busa out to drag race and fell in love with the rush of racing all-out a few seconds at a time.

"I was just playing around with some friends and one day I went out there and got my butt whooped," Stephens recalled with a smile. "I decided I wanted to get into more and try to win."

Stephens competes in the Super Bike Division, which features some of the fastest bikes that race down Atlanta Motor Speedway's pit lane dragstrip.

"You can't win unless you go out there and beat somebody that beat you," Stephens said of the weekly competition. "I'm learning, I'm practicing, and I hope to win a lot."

Beyond the excitement of each race, Stephens says he enjoys hanging out with fellow motorcyclists.

"It's cool," Stephens said. "When you have a bike it's a brotherhood; you can talk to each other about anything." Plus, Stephens says, the atmosphere at Friday Night Drags is inviting to both racers and fans.

"You can come out here with your family, have a good time, and have a few laughs while watching some racing," Stephens said. "You don't have to be a racer or be into cars or the bikes - it's about being around the noise and watching them go fast.

"I guarantee if you come out one time you'll be hooked."

Four motorcycle divisions will be among 19 closely matched classes of racers taking to the 1/8-mile pit lane drag strip when Atlanta Motor Speedway's O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags & Show-N-Shine return on Friday, July 19.

Grandstand gates open at 6:30 p.m., and nightly drag race eliminations start just after 9:00 p.m. Entry to drag race or for the Show-N-Shine is just $20 or competitors can purchase a combo ticket for $30. Spectator tickets are just $10, and children 5 and under are free.
