Last lap excitement was the theme of the second event of the Fall Five series at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The most dramatic last lap series of events on the ¼ mile came in the Masters Legends. After a back-and-forth battle for the lead between Robbie Woodall, of McDonough, and Brian Weimer, of Cumming, the field took the white flag with Woodall out front and seemingly on his way to victory.

That changed when Woodall's car slowed coming off turn two; Weimer and Bill Plemons, Jr., came out of the stack-up that followed side-by-side for the lead entering the final corners.

Just when it appeared the race would be decided between the two of them, both Plemons and Weimer went wide in turn 4, opening up the bottom lane for Tony Armbruster.

Armbruster, of Covington, was 4th entering the final lap, but was able to thread his way through the last lap chaos to take the checkered flag. Weimer and Plemons finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

The budding drivers of the Young Lions Legends division put on quite the show, too. After showing the way for the first 15 laps, Ryan Rackley, of Valdosta, found himself shuffled back to 3rd on a late restart and was running there with just two laps to go. On the penultimate lap, Rackley passed Audrie Ruark, of Suwanee, for 2nd and then set his sights on her brother Lucas Ruark as the field took the white flag.

On the final lap, Rackley dove to the inside of Lucas Ruark and completed the pass just before the finish line to secure back-to-back Fall Five series wins.

In the Pro Legends division, polesitter Carson Ferguson, of Charlotte, N.C., set a blistering pace throughout the 20-lap feature on his way to victory.

Sammy Smith, of Johnston, Iowa, likewise set the bar in the Semi-Pro Legends feature, leading all 20 laps before taking the checkered flag.

In the Bandits Bandoleros, trouble for Landon Rapp, of Concord, N.C., while leading late opened the door for Jaiden Reyna, of Yorktown, Va., who took over the top spot and led the final four laps to win the feature.

Blaise Maddox, of Locust Grove, secured the lead after a spirited battle with Marietta's Kenny Brady and survived a final turn bump-and-run attempt to win the Outlaws bandolero feature.

Clay Hocutt, of Mobile, Ala., started 5th but quickly worked his way to the lead and took the checkered flag in the Rookie Bandoleros feature.
